Senior Research Scientist

Summary and Experience

Michel is a Senior Research Scientist at Uni Research Climate and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research. He is also the Head of Research and Development at Future Solutions in Norway.

In 2009, he earned a PhD degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (USA). He has 50 publications on large-scale dynamics, including sea-ice-atmosphere interaction, storm tracks, teleconnectivity, downscaling, climate modeling, science education, and climate ecology.

He has successfully applied for and received several million USD in grants in Norway. He has been the Principal Investigator of a number of projects of the Norwegian Research Council and Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Michel was also a Visiting Faculty at TERI University in India and has previously worked as a Group Leader, leading close to 20 Research Scientists in Norway.

He is also the Founder of m2lab.org, a website that trains researchers and students around the world. The website runs in collaboration with Yarker Consulting, and together we have trained more than 1,000 participants.
